Elwood Comes To Chicago!
by Ken Biringer

After  years of development, Dan's new "Crystal Head" vodka has finally hit the shelves. Modeled after the mysterious 13 crystal skulls of antiquity, this beautifully bottled vodka is a great expression of Dan's passion for the spiritual unseen and unknown. Also released at this time, is his microphone-labeled "Discovery Series" 2007 Sonoma County
Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

Dan Akroyd recently visited Binny's South Loop store in Chicago, promoting his new line of vodka and Sonoma County wines. Hundreds of fans came out to get their bottles signed by "funny man" and movie star Dan Akroyd.

I myself have always been a big fan of Dan's since the early days of "Saturday Night Live". When I heard he was coming to Chicago to promote his new products, I had to check it out. I showed up an hour after the store opened and a line had already formed, practically going out the door. I was amazed at the huge turnout this early in the day, but it does make sense. After all, Dan is a bit of a legend in Chicago and after filming "Blue Brothers" in the late 70's, the city has adopted him as one of their own. So, wine drinkers or not, they showed up, bought their bottles and patiently waited in line for a chance to meet the great "Elwood Blues".

Hundreds of patrons were "snaked" down the aisles,
waiting to get their bottles signed.
