NEW EARTH CELLARS

WINE CELLAR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

Ken's Pick Of The Month
2007 Abrazo Del Toro Syrah

Many people feel that a wine shop is the best place to buy a bottle of wine, but I've found a great local hangout that sells great wine at great prices; It's a grocery chain known as "Trader Joes".

I've been buying wine at Trader Joes for years. A great thing about their wines is that many of them come from small wineries throughout the world. Their store gives these wineries an avenue to sell their wines to the American public- wines we would surely never have heard of or tasted. In most cases, these wines are quite incredible for the price. Here's an example:

2007 Abrazo Del Toro Syrah

The color was quite appealing- a black cherry red.

The nose was subtle, almost non-existent.

On the palate, the wine was quite flavorful- slightly acidic with strong plum and blackberry notes.

Fruity, peppery finish.

This wine is produced in the "Carinena" region of Spain, an area known for its rich and intense wines. For only $5.95, I consider this quite a bargain!
